Do I need an App for my business?

If you have an idea for the killer App that's going to get 20,000 downloads a day and make you a fortune - good for you, bring it on!

However, at a basic level, every single business, should have an App that is an extension of their business, in the same way that your web site is an extension of your business.

A few short years ago, no one had a web site. Many people thought they would never need one. They were wrong. Now everyone has a website. Apps have hit the mainstream and in the coming years everyone will also have an App. It's not all about Apple either (although there are something like 40 to 60m iPhones out there!). The other big players such as the major phone manufacturers will not get left behind and App platforms like Android are gaining ground.

The killer App is great, work on that, but in the meantime get on with developing an App that tells people where you are, what you do and why they should do business with you. A simple "showcase" App like that will cost you very little indeed!
